Hi guys, im happy with what iv gained the last few months and now looking to cut. iv tried ment diets in the past and worked, but now want to try the higher fat, low carb approach. im quite overweight really and have alot to loose. so just after some advice

Here is what iv got in mind, keeping the carbs around my training then converting over around my working hours. all im concerned about is the insulin spike i will get with my post workout meal.. maybe switch it with Oats? or something fatty?

    1. 100g powderd oats, 30g whey, Glutamine, omega 3 softgells
    Cal 506
    2. 5 Scrambled Eggs, 3000mg BCAA+ Pre-Workout
    Cal 500
    3. 1 banana, 30g whey, 3000mg BCAA+ POST-Workout
    Cal 218
    4. 75g uncleB Rice, smoked haddock
    Cal 300
    5. 100g minced beef, onions, smoked haddock, 30g cheese, Veg
    Cal 450
    6. 60g egg powder, 1 tbls olive oil, Omega3 Gells
    Cal 350

I have yet to work out the other nutritional values. but aiming for about 2200-2500 calories.

    im 5'10 14st

    Thanks

its possible, was_fat_dave is the best to speak to as he has experienced great progress in fat loss with the high fat diet.

with regards to your diet, you need to up the fat and veggies.

have salmon, mackeral or other oily fish instead of haddock.

veggies will help fill you up and provide important vits and mins.

If you want to lose a load of fat quick and you can handle it, try the velocity diet. It's basically living on protein shakes and having one meal at the weekend.

I couldn't hack it, so I lived on Protein shakes 5 days a week and ate what I wanted for the other 2. I also trained 6 times a week and I lost over 10kgs in the space of 6 weeks.

Basically toned down version of the atkins diet, but kept the fats low as well

if you kept the fats low, then i reckon that 10kg you lost was more muscle than fat.

you need fat to lose fat. thats why the v-diet recommends you take capped oils, a lot of them.

Its nothing like the Atkins diet!

Its low cal, all coming from shakes, and its moderate fat at best. Plus if you were eating what you wanted at weekend you did not do the v-diet, you did some version of your own. V-deit calls for one solid meal per week.

Dig Deep, have a look through my diet thread see if it helps, post 34 is my finalised diet, i'm 10lb heavy than you so you may want to drop the kcals a bit to.

You loose a lot of everything on the v-diet, muscle included, thats why they recomend you taking bcaa's and plenty of oils to slow down the muscle loss
    PB's as of 2010: Deads 220kg, Squat 200kg(190 currently) , Bench 115kg,

errr, I thought Atkins was low carb and this is also low carb if you take a low carb protein shake?

I'm not an expert, but that seems similar. Hey, I'm not one to argue, it worked and got the desired results!
