Asymptomatic intolerence could be detected using Ig-reposnse salivary / blood tests, gut dysbiosis stool tests, etc.

However, its worth remembering that we have some kind of immune reaction to almost everything we eat. Even cooking food is enough to make people have a reaction to it when they eat it. Most of the time its no big deal, and is an important part of hormesis (RB could probably chime in on that one).
I used to get terrible diarrhea and stomach cramps when i consumed grains and legumes, and thought i was intolerent until i learnt from the WAPF how to prepare these foods properly. Soaking and brining / liming grains and pulses overnight (or even longer) massively improves the digestibility of them. For those that have digestive issues with these foods, i would suggest trying these preperation methods before writing them off totally. Sprouted and fermented grains and pulses are also much more digestible.

I have been soaking my rice for upto 24 hours when ever I eat it, if I have time. I always save some of the water from the previous soak and put it into my next soaking batch to enhance the effects. It does make a difference though and I reccommend it to everyone. Also since coming off gluten i've seen big improvements in my digestion, glutamine has also helped improve it, but its a bit early to come to any real conclusions.

I started relying more on sweet pots though as their easier to eat and taste better IMO.

Im going to try the soaking method for the grains i eat. Does it have to be 24 hours beforehand? Whats the minimum time required?

Im on 4 solid meals a day at the mo and if my breakfast doesnt keep me full for 3 hours i know im not eating enough for it. Same for lunch and dinner. If im hungry before that 3 hour gap then i add more to the meal. Thats how ive usually functioned.

I see this a lot with peoples' breakfast. (I know the breakfast debate on here, but this is with regard to people who dont exercise) They have a tiny breakfast; say an apple and then within an hour they are eating biscuits, crisps chocolate to fulfill their hunger to last out till lunch; and ironically in their mind they think having a small breakfast is helping them lose weight!

I just use a simple logic that if my body wants a snack i havent fed it well enough. Thats my opinion anyway. Im a fan of huge meals

You dont have to, but I tried it overnight before and it didnt really do much. You know when its doing a good job because the smell of fermenting rice is disgusting! lol. I would say 12 hours as an absolute minimum, drain and run the rice under the cold tap for a while to give it a clean before you cook it too.

Seems like a lot of trouble to go to for relatively little in return when there are so many more nutritious foods readily available that do not require such a lot of faffing about. It also underlines how labour intensive these foods are - so back in our evolutionary past, when we didn't have the convenience of supermarkets, it seems unlikely that we would have gone to all that time and effort in locating, gathering, preparing and cooking those kinds of foods unless we had no other choices available.

Yeah, but rice is cheap, which is the main reason when you want to eat alot. Its also not that inconvenient aslong as you plan ahead.

If I could afford steak everyday I would without hesitation. Also thats exactly what I just had^^! with scrambled egg and cheese been looking forward to it all day.

Eggs are relatively cheap, versatile and first-class nutrition. You don't need to eat steak every day and it doesn't have to be prime cuts. Minced meats are cheap and contain most of the same nutrients as steaks.

Would a Crohn's disease sufferer benefit from reducing carbs or eliminating them completely?
