They're high in cholesterol, but this isn't a bad thing for two reasons:

    1) Your body will produce far more cholesterol by itself that you will consume in a normal diet. There is even evidence that your body will produce less cholesterol if you eat more, in order to keep it's cholesterol levels constant.

    2) Cholesterol in itself isn't bad for you - in fact it's essential for good health. When cholesterol is "bad" for you it has more to do with you having an imbalance between the kinda of lipoproteins that transport the cholesterol around the body.

Thanks for the info really useful
So how do you know if you are getting the right balance?
I had a blood test at the doctor and they said my cholesterol was slightly high, not massively but scared me a little as im only 29. I had been drinking quite a bit of full fat milk trying to gain weight and eating alot of eggs as well. I have cut the full fat milk out now. But I do like my eggs so would like to start eating more again.

It sounds as if you just got your total cholesterol measured. You really want to get HDL, LDL and triglycerides done to get a more complete picture. My total cholesterol was like yours, a little over max, but my HDL was over 25% and my triglycerides were very low so I'm confident that I'm healthy, despite having "elevated cholesterol".

If you do manage to nag your doc into getting more complete test done, you can always post up your results here and some of the more knowledgeable members will be happy to look over it.

Gees you guys get through some eggs, I might do 6-8 in a week.

Does the intake depend on the goals your trying to achieve? I'm not trying to turn into Ben Grimm from the fantastic 4, just get a good lean physique much like you seen on the front of mens health every month

I have a couple of whey shakes on work out days for that boost but not at other times.

it all depends on your diet mate
some people eat alot of meat to his their protein numbers, some eat eggs, then last resort shakes
i would aim for 1-1.5g of protein per pound of BW!
