Watch saturday kitchen on BBC1, I believe the current record for a 3 egg omelette is around 21 secs.

i'm in the egg camp and mine take about a minute. I use a non stick frying pan to help with the washing up (I know teflon is related to a number of diseases, conditions, etc). Put frying pan on hob, light gas, crack eggs & whisk pour in to pan, after 30 seconds stir/turn over. 20 secs later put on plate with chilli sauce. lovely.

At the same time I have also managed to do the toast for the wife, porridge for the kids and made a pot of coffee. All in 5 minutes. If you plan the night before it makes it so much easier. I once asked a chef friend what was the secret of cooking and he said it was all in the preperation.

Agreed, the secret to cooking is the preparation. When cooking you soon end in a mess if your trying to chop your onions while having other things on the hob.

Haha being 17 is no excuse to not cook a good breakfast. What i normally do during term time is:

    - Break 4-6 eggs into jug
    - Weigh out jumbo oats, can't quite remember how much
    - Mix together in jug with a handful of raisins or some sugar free jelly powder
    - Pour into oiled pan on low heat and cover with a piece of tin foil
    - Go for shower
    - Check to see how its doing, if its looking firm then turn it over and take off the foil
    - Go get dressed
    - Eat, tear pieces off and eat with hands

Assload of protein and good carbs, think they call it a protein pancake.

An extra 10 minutes in bed.... or a good quality breakfast that will set you up for the day, that's your choice. 10 minutes extra sleep won't give you any energy to survive a morning or a days work. Neither will Special K.
