Im not an expert, but I'd probably take honey & malt off the list.

Is that from nutritional information kind of site? If you want what actually forms it in the body it will be wildly different than whats there at the end (although I suspect not too different to whats in cows blood or something)

    It'd help to know,

what on earth are you doing?

Whatever that 'formula' you posted is, it's very potent and nutrient dense, a liquid multivitamin or something?

The honey and malt are just carriers/bulking agents i'm guessing

    Good guessing RB.

Yes, it's a breakdown of a liquid multivitamin, formulated to help maintain health and vitality with nutrients for the formation of haemoglobin for red blood cells.

I guess my first post should have been clearer. I have IBS, which occasionally flares up and I lose some blood. I can control it with diet but there's no real cure for it. The doctors just want to put me on a medication which basically hammers my immune system so it doesn't respond. I'd much rather just feed my body with the fuel it needs to replace the blood i'm losing until the condition settles again. This happens about once every 6 months. Now i'm not seeking medical advice, i'm only asking what nutrients the body needs for the formation of haemoglobin and red blood cells.

    Any advice received with thanks

There are three critical dietary nutrients required for blood formation (haemoglobin):
    • Iron
    • Folic Acid
    • Vitamin B12 (cobalamine)
Needless to say red meat (especially liver) is a rich and highly bioavailable form of all three but B12 in particular.

Just eat more offal and red meat. Also, stuff like blood / black pudding is good.

    noob question:

Does Alpha Men contain any Iron? I can't see to see it either breakdown breakdown on the Alpha Men page. But then again, I really don't know exactly what i'm looking for!

Also, what would be a good daily dose of iron for an active 29 year old male, 14 st with 15% BF and low iron levels? I was thinking 25mg per day?

    Thanks,

    Rik
