I'm currently trying to burn fat and I am doing weights and cardio. Can i take weight gain to make up for the calories because i can't be bothered to keep making food before hand to be honest. I'm eating just below my maintenance calories as well with the weight gain. Just wanted to clear this up before I buy some more.

If you're eating below maintenace you'll lose fat regardless.

However, on a diet you probably want to focus on foods that have the highest nutrient content, and that will keep you feeling fuller for longer, of which weight gain isn't an ideal choice as a result.

I already take vitamin ad mineral supps in the morning, I also take green tea powder with L glutamine and normal impact whey powder as well. It's just I don't really have enough time to make food anymore, and I can't be bothered to keep making food. So is it okay or can I keep doing it?

Ha. Just wanted to make sure. Cheers boss. One last thing, is mixing L glutamine with green tea powder and whey a good idea, or should I take the pills instead for the green tea? P.s. Can't stand drinking green tea so I try to supp. it

If you can stomach it yes. To be honest L-glutamine seems to have more benefit taken on an empty stomach, so try to take it either first thing in the morning, or a good while after a meal, PWO perhaps?

Taking weight gainer whilst cutting, heresy, the world will end!

    Seriously...

Whilst some people here can be a bit OCD about recommending wholefoods over supps, I think this is a case where its definitely true. If you are cutting your calories back then it won't effect your weight loss at all, but getting a lot of the reduced calories you are taking in from a protein powder isn't ideal. You might find in the long term that you are healthier if you can be bothered to make more food, and use less supps.

is a weight gainer mainly comprised of MCT's, oats, maltodextrin, whey etc any less nutritional than say some tuna and pasta?, what Im saying is the word "supp" is overused and in the wrong context my mid afternoon snack :2 pints of milk and some nuts could be a "supp" why? it supplements my main meals and usually isnt a requirment in my diet but something supplementary instead. Just because a weight gainer comes in a container doesnt mean its any more of a supp than milk that comes in a container, still food just not as whole but rather more compact.

In my mind a "supp" is a supplement to a usual diet. Whole foods are considered to be a usual/normal diet. Powdered food is not. Simple as that.

You could take it a step further and say that you supplement the chciken in your diet with gravy, the protein with fats etc. etc. Whey is not the same as milk. Milk is a natural product, whey is an extract of that natural product.

And in answer to the question about tuna and pasta, I would probably say there isn't that much difference really. I won't pretend to know enough about the digestion process to draw conclusions, but I would imagine it is harder for the body to get everything it needs from a liquid meal, compared to a whole food.
