My BF is about 11-12% at the moment. I was quite lean about 2 weeks ago - about 10% i'd say. The stress of being told there was a 50% chance i had tresticular cancer up until a few days ago knocked a bit of lean mass of me i think, as my weight dropped to about 73.5kg without any visible change in bodyfat. The last few days, knowing that i pretty much have the all clear, i have been gorging like a MOFO and i put on a bit of fat. I'm back under control now.

Yes, my diet has been tweeked. I am experimenting with a few things at the moment, such as high purine foods, which i am finding quite good for sustained energy. I've found i can eat less calories but have sustained energy through the tough 2 hour + Sheiko workouts.

I have been looking into some of the foundation research by various individuals that the homeostatic control mechanisms used in metabolic typing (MT) are based upon. I originally knocked MT because Wolcotts book was poorly referenced, but i have been reading the works of the early researchers that MT theories are based upon and there is indeed clinical evidence to back up alot of the concepts. I also found references in one of my soviet sport science books to treatments for basedowic and addisonic overtraining, characterised by hyperactive sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous output respectively, and the symptoms and recommended nutritional therapies match very well with what MT characterises as, and proposes nutritional approaches for, 'sympathetic-dominant' and 'parasympathetic-dominant' respectively.

I've pretty much ditched the carb-ups all together. I will be using morning basal body temperature changes to determine when i need refeeds in the future.

Excellent news on the all clear Rob!

Good stuff, a table on high purine foods for your reference:

Looks like meat/fish and offal are highest in purine which is to be expected

Sweetbreads look the best source, better get mine out the freezer then!

Excellent stuff, although there is evidence (can't recall where now) that a carb based diet elevates body temperature so you need to factor in what would be a 'normal' temperature.
