The lightheadedness could also be related to the caffeine withdrawal. Caffeine is in the same sort of class as cocaine and nicotine.

You might also be missing the sugar - this will stabilise after a few days but at a lower blood level than you might have previously been used to. Sugar, like caffeine, is psychologically as well as physiologically active.

As for the water all the suggestions so far are good. If you filter your own water then you can buy a soda-stream machine and lightly carbonate it yourself. It tastes better if you add a small pinch of re-hydrating salts as well (MP sell them very cheaply).

I used to have a weird thing about not liking water either, I'd only ever drink squash or hot drinks. IMO you should just go cold turkey and persist with the water only and eventually your taste will alter and the body will sort itself out. Drinking water is pretty much the most natural thing you can do, so just keep on chugging away.

Just push through it, I used to hate straight water but now I drink 4 litres a day. After a while you'll get used to it.

You need to learn to like water.

It would be a bit hypocritical to follow a paleo diet and then refuse to drink water. It doesn't taste of anything, just get used to it!

Sparkling water would be fine in the mean time whilst getting used to drinking plain water.
