Hey guys, I've come here looking for a little advice. I am 25 years old, 10 stone and have been working out for the past couple of years. I eat what I would say is a reasonable diet and work out 4-5 times a week, using heavy weights in the 6-12 rep range. However, I just don't seem to be adding any mass whatsoever. I use protein shakes and creatine twice a day also. Any thoughts as to what I could be doing wrong? I'll include a typical diet -

Breakfast: 6 egg whites, 2 slices wholemeal toast. Protein shake and creatine
    Snack: cottage cheese, fruit
Lunch: chicken breast, veggies, sweet potato ( sometimes more cottage cheese )
Dinner: steak/fish potatoes, veggies. Protein shake and creatine
    Snack: toast & peanut butter

After all that I get around 8 hours sleep

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Work out your maitence calories, add 500 to that. If you don't gain weight in a few weeks add another 250 every few weeks still you start gaining. Bottom line, EAT MORE I'm sure some guys on here will give you some more detailed advice but that's just my 2 cents.

Thanks for replying. I only eat the egg whites because I buy the whites only.

Guess the question then becomes, why do you do that, surely the whole egg would be cheaper. As the poster above mentioned how many cals does all that food add up to ?

Well, whenever I have had the yolk in the past, I end up having a reaction. Which I guess is odd because it's usually the whites people have a problem with. Believe me I would eat the whole egg, if I could

This looks like a great "clean" diet for a bodybuilder on a cut. You are not on a cut, you probably want to look for some more fatty protein sources. I <3 cheese (not cottage cheese), prefer lamb/beef over chicken etc. You might also want to have a look at the cheesecake thread :-D

Also as everyone else has said figure out the calorie count you are eating.

Multivitamin and mineral supplement is a good concept for weight gain. But make sure you are getting all the
necessary vitamins and minerals taht you need. Some people considered that their muscle mass increases with the help of
protein supplements that contain certain blends of amino acids, such as creatine and glutamine.
