Cheaper brands, beef mince instead of steak. Chicken thigh/leg rather than breast.

Don't eat steak its so expensive though you coukl try venison. Try using value mince, it has a higher fat content but that's good for bulking and also FAT = flavour add some kidney beans and tomatoes beautiful.

In terms of veg if your not to picky Tesco sell 2.5kg bags of mixed veg for about 2 quid. Each bag is different some weeks I get 12 carrots, other weeks I get loads of brocolie.

Other than that try shopping online at Tesco.com and only buying from the half price section, lots of frozen meat ect and if your brave full chickens are normally cheap, cook and store for later meals ect.

Frozen veg and kindey beans are dirt cheap. Kidney beans are like 16p a tin and have an awesome macro content.

Mince steak, not lean, or extra lean.

Go to the shops and buy reduced section stuff. I pick up steaks and mince for about £1 sometimes. Also, just buy a big bag of MP's impact whey, its extremely cost effective, I think it works out at less than 15p for 30g of protein which if you got that in chicken would cost you at least £2.

Farmfoods have some good frozen stuff,

Chicken breasts, off the top of ym head i think its 2 bags, so 10 breast for like £7??
Frozen fish is 2 bags for £5 i think its 8 fillets in 2 bags.

canned tuna is ruddy expensive, home bargains sell 4 cans of john west tuna steaks for £3.

its a case of shoppin around i think.

i often go to ADSA or Tesco early in the morning, that is when all the meat and veg that is due to go out of date that day is sold cheap, you can get £7 of steak (4 rumps) for about £4, and lean mince for just over £1. its often a case of luck.

21 quid a week is VERY cheap, well done on getting it at that low a price, the remainder of your food shouldn't be much, huge bags of rice at uni shops are normally cheap and come in sizes up to 2-5kilos, potatoes can be cheap, too.

I'm all for watching cashflow (I am a minimalist and also very frugal), but don't skimp on diet, since it is the root of everything - health, performance, longevity etc etc

Mince is also very cheap, lots to do with it too - shephards pie, burgers etc, also try and get friendly with a local butchers - buy brisket and cook it in a stew too, that is always a tasty and extremely cheap one.

Buy a full chicken, the best way to save money on chicken, and eat evey morsel you can get.

Also, invest in a mincer and make your own mince out of whatever the hell cut of beef is cheap at the time
