I'd go for
50% oats
30% whey protein
10% activated barley
10% flax seed.
Because the barley is a carb source and you need 30g of protein not 20 ideally.
Im quite new to the weight gain thing , my diet is pretty clean none of the usual fatty stuff . 5-6 meals a day including 2 protein shakes . Recently bought some oats , activated barley and protein . Does anyone have any thoughts on a 100g shake
60% OATS
10% ACTIVATED BARLEY
20% WHEY CONCENTRATE
10% FLAX SEED
Would probably use this PWO and between meals maybe once a day
I also take trib (3 tabs a day) and 5g Creapure before workout
Any feedback much appreciated , be gentle first time on the forum

Terminator thanks for that, I take it its best to take the creapure on its own rather than mixing it in with this shake Im currently beginning a German Volume Training programme so am hoping to get some good gains with this and the new formula
Hey Mak,
I've been doing pretty much the same for the last month. My formula goes something like this: 45% Oats, 5% Activated Barley, 10% Flax powder and 40% WPC80.
When it first turned up I tried 90g in half pint of milk and found it to be too thick; I literally had to chew my way through it. Now I use 60g of formula but add a spoon of peanut butter and a banana. Both help with the flavour and the banana helps to thicken it all up - but just a little.
I have two of these a day - mid morning and mid afternoon, in between breakfast, lunch and dinner, then I have a plate of bacon and eggs after my workout.
Having spoken with others in the forums here, it would appear that dextrose and whey would be a better mix for post workout; check out this thread for more details: http://forum.myprotein.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4878
Hope this helps.
I'd be tempted to take the creatine as you get near the end of your workouts with some fruit juice to use the insulin transport.
Then take the main shake after the workout.

Terminator , thanks will try that see what happens and bodyuk thanks for the advice , whats the logic behind the bacon and eggs after the workout would chicken or tuna and some carbs not be better
To be honest, the b and e is mainly for the protein from the eggs, and it's also quick to knock up; it's also something I can eat day after day without getting bored. I've tried chicken, but after a while it just does my head in and it's quite expensive too.
I'll be the first to admit that it's probably not the best way of doing things and in fact I am looking to change when I work out and will probably have a proper PWO shake afterwards, but right now that's just the way it is. ;-)
yes bodyuk I know what youre saying just thought youd discovered something new in the b&e thing , good luck
