    Better gains than someone that just eats pop tarts crisps and chicken nuggets. Obviously not optimal though. Its a continuous line, not discrete. Better diet = better gains

    Well according to several of these posts there wouldn't be a need for protein shakes anyway for growth, and one would make gains on a diet like that.

    But what would be the point? And I agree adding protein shakes doesn't make ones diet good, adding good fats would probably be better for health effects etc.

    Yeah, I'm loving the full fat milk, lots of eggs, real butter, fat cuts of meat etc.

    However I still know carbs are important for sports performance so I will always have carbs pre and post workout.
