Hi all, a nemby to the forums here.
I would like to introduce oats into my diet following advice/debate/reading about benefits of slow-release carbs they provide. However, as someone who isn't a fan of milk, has anyone any good tasty suggestions for getting them into my diet (i.e. likely not cereal style!?).
Cheers everyone

When you eat the foods your body is made for (Paleo foods) in a framework that your body is made for (feast-fast, such as IF), it all works beautifully.
ground oats in a shaker or make bars with them but if you mix in some protein powder then its nice without milk
I agree with both the above,
shakes and homemade flapjacks are what I use (as well as porridge for breakfast on cooler days)
MIX THOUGHLY BEFORE USE
Rice milk sweetens porridge nicely.

oh, and just to be more qizzical, any preferences with regards which oats people buy? MP's fine scottish sound good (as can be mixed in shaker without blender) but do any supermarkets do similar fine ones??
Sorry if this has been covered a million times before elsewhere!![]()
I think MP are the only ones who do fine oats.
I use tesco value oats, but some are willing to pay for the convenience of having it ground up.
I like eating them as they are in a shaker with whey and milk. Gives it a nice chewy consistency.

Whole oats in a shaker are horrible IMO, I can't deal with the texture. If you do use whole oats remember to take the mesh out of your shaker!!
If you want your own alternative, get some Tesco oats (about 48p a kilo), put some in a blender (fill about halfway up), then turn it onto max and shake it for about 2-3 mins, exactly the same as any ultra fine oats you'd find anywhere.
