Hey mate. Ingol isn't too bad - but there are alot of chavs around there and a couple big rough estates near by. Sadly though everywhere is like that!

Like I said before Fulwood/Broughton are the better areas of Preston but finding an affordable place to live in these areas is like hunting for gold.

The popular student areas tend to be around the uni in the centre (where the halls all are) or rented houses in Plunginton.

Can you not make it up here for a look around some places?

lol perhaps but I live in a dodgy area here and feel like a prisoner in my own home like, which is why Im willing to pay in order to find a location were I can sit in my garden after a hard day of uni and not be bothered. I dont party or anything so I just want a leafy residential if you know what I mean?

Will you be bringing a car with you? If so, might be worth having a look at Lytham/St. Annes. Really nice area...a little out the way, but it would certainly be what you're looking for!

for f**ks sake! Houses, cars, what next. Students sre supposed to live in dives and get the bus. Not St. b@sta@rd Annes! You're probably better off in Halls, or a house near the Uni. They'd be better than the likes of Callun, or Tanterton (which borders Ingol)

I'm a Preston lad and lived there til the age of 33. There's a lot of good areas. Student digs used to be in terraces down Brook Street or Plunginton Road way, but these days they can be all the way down to the end of NewHall Lane. Fullwood, Broughton, are nice but they're way out. There used to be student houses overlooking Avenham Park which is great on a summers day. Penwortham has some nice areas, as does Grimsargh and some bits of Walton-Le-Dale. Bamber Bride is rank but it did used to have a cracking takeaway pizza place.
