    welcome to the forums mvhlady. loadsa interesting and useful info around along with good banter.

    give it a few months and show those casual gym goers whos got the better bod. going to the gym to natter or watch corrie on the tv aint gonna 'tone you up'. having a gym membership won't get you in shape.

    Haha it was awful! the weather was horrendous, water was choppy as and my back brakes locked up, i had to "fix" them with a rock. Plus I lost a lot of muscle doing it - Definetely not caught the tri bug!

    and dont worry, the same guys that annoy you in the gym annoy most of the serious trainers too - ill never forget the day i went to work out and some dude was dancing away next to the squat rack like he was in an r'n'b video, half of me was temped to "fail" the lift and drop the bar on him. Thats why i train at 7:30am now, cant stand the gym in the evening - its like a goddamn social club.

    True, i go straight from work about 5.15 till 6.30ish and its exactly that, like a social club.
    Is annoying but i get up at 6am as it is, if i did the gym in the morning i would have to get up at 4.30!! Erm i dont think so!!
    Friday evenings after work are nice, most people are in the pub and sad gits like me are in the gym!!

    Oh dear, sorry to hear you had a bad Tri! Its not for everyone is it.

    I absolutely loved London, what a buzz!!! Its worth every penny of the rip off entry fee.
    I got to meet Jenson Button too which was an added bonus
    He is easy on the eye after all

    I'm enjoying being back in the gym for the winter though, even if i do have to avoid posers and meat heads he he

    MVHLady, i wouldn't say it was sad, my favourite gym session of the week is 5.30 - 7 on a friday evening. It's quieter but there's still people in for abit of atmosphere, much easier to get my workout done!

    +1 Friday 5-8 is the best time. I was off work Mon-Wed this week so went at 1430 on Monday afternoon and the gym was still packed with a load of meat heads - do these people not have jobs? Some of them are the same punks I see in there at 1800 when I usually workout!!
