you have to do what makes you feel happy, the most important thing is feeling comftable in your own skin. i was very overweight in my teenage years, whenever i see my nan she,s like oh ben your going to fade away to nothing you used to be such a well built man. ahem! im 185lbs at 10% bodyfat right now. i was 19st at my fattest and couldnt see my toes. wen i was overweight i was always ill, had abdominal pains and shin splints when i walked. now im never ill, never injured and when i do get ill i recover much faster than the average person. basicly what im trying to say is this, to the normal person a musclure physique is unusual and alien to them and most see it as unhealthy and unnatural in fact its the most healthiest and most natural way you can be, just look at a horse forinstence. its more unnatural to be fat and out of shape. and you can reassure your family and tell them you lack the hormones to get muscle bound like ronnie coleman because your a woman. keep it up and if pepole keep on hounding you about it tell them to f*** o**!

Just ask them why they put make up on and buy new clothes. I bet they respond with the typical double standard response of "but yeah that's different".

If anyone criticises what YOU do with YOUR body you should just do the same to them. By the way if you're taking any supplements I'd strongly suggest you don't tell them that otherwise you won't hear the end of the "it's not natural" debate.

At first I read that as "Ronnie Corbett" and was like "wtf?" haha!

Playing the health card is probably the way forward, it gets the point across in a non-abrasive way and they can't exactly argue with my latest blood results can they. @Waterfield - duly noted re: the supplements; I do take quite a few!

@Elvis, I think in certain circles (eg MP forum, gym) the view is what you say: exercise = better body. But I wouldn't say that's the majority view by any stretch. I don't really care what 'normal' people think about my body, but I DO care when they get all up in my face about it

Hm yeah it can get REALLY boring people asking questions you don't want to answer but are made to feel like you have to. Whilst I was in halls the girls I was living with CONSTANTLY questioned my food choices. Really annoyed me so much so that in the end I just said 'why are you so interested? I don't ask about your food choices why are you asking about mine?' One of them found it amazing that she never saw me eat 'dirty food' - the clue is in the name!

Also when I had my biceps at their best about a year ago one of my so called friends told me how 'unattractive' that was. Tbh I really put all the food and body questions down to jealousy - because they can't be that determined and dedicated.

Yeah you are right, a lot of people when asking how i lost the weight, really just want to know if there is a magic pill they can take that will solve all their physique problems. Nobody wants to put the effort in.

The main naysayer in my world is Mother, who has just had her knee replaced. So now I just play the health card, or overwhelm her with links to research about how weight training is good for your bones.

Heaven forbid it's hard, right? ****ing fed up a world of lazy people who cannot put in any genuine hard work. I mean I know someone who is losing weight constantly and they're not going balls to the walls, still enjoying a good indulgence but just puts in a a casual effort. Losing weight everytime I see 'em and this is CASUAL, maybe rowing the rowing machine 2-3 times a week for 30 minutes and just not eating too much. How much easier do people need it to be?
