rest
My fight is next sunday, feeling pretty confident about it, I'm training on the bags daily and doing cardio, I feel pretty ready, but for the last few days before the fight does anyone have any tips? Any tips are greatly appreciated!
Cheers
Alex

Keep an eye on your weight, think about how you plan to fight, try and focus yourself on your strengths and how you will use them.
If its your first fight (boxing) think fitness, composure and keep it simple.
Thanks for the tips, the fight is in Buckley on the 28th of this month, my opponent has more experience than me but I refuse to let that bother me, I'm gonna go in there and give it my best!

i would still rest. you will ahve done everything you can during training. let your body fully recover the few days before teh fight. eliminate as many excuses as possible. i've competed against people who unless they win, they whinge and gripe about that they didn't sleep well, didn't eat right, dog pooed on their shoes, any excuse they can think of.
end of the day is that you knew about the competition well in advance, therefore you should have prepared for it.

Haha well as it's my first fight I'm more focused on the experience than the actual win, don't get me wrong a win would be nice, but competing alone will be such an experience.
I'm pretty happy with my skill level, form etc, so I guess it's just down to nerves now (I am getting quite nervous).
Would you recommend light stretching or anything like that? Or should I just completely leave it alone?
Cheers!

some very light stretching is useful. i generally just keep away from anything training related a few days before my comps. all you can do is your best and for a first fight, it is all a learning experience.
the expereience of an opponent can give them the advantage, IF they use it right. i've scalped many senior grades in major comps. i'm talking 4th dan grades and upwards. it all comes down to how well your prep was and how you deal with it.

just take some time out. go for walks, listen to chill out music. basically anything that gets your mind away form it. if you keep thinking about it, doubts may start to creep in. stuff like have you trained enough, did you nail the diet, what about that plyo session, etc. eventually it will eat away at you and the enjoyment is gone.

Hit him (know what I'm mean 'Arry).
Oh, and switch to southpaw half way through the second round, I'm sure it worked in some movie some time.
