    Hi everyone. Quick question.

Im going to train kickboxing 2 times a week for tuesdays and thursdays. BUT!! I also wish to train some strenght training meanwhile for size and for more strength.

I have good experience with the program StrongLift 5x5, and wanna continue with this.

    The program is:

you begin with only the bar or very low weight on each exercise, and then you add 2,5kg for each new workout on all exercises.

    Workout A:
    - squat 5x5
    - bench press 5x5
    - bent over rows 5x5
    - chin-ups 3xF

    Workout B:
    - squat 5x5
    - military press 5x5
    - deadlift 5x5
    - dips 3xF

    it works like this:

    week 1:
    monday: workout A
    Wednesday: workout B
    Friday: workout A

    week 2:
    monday: workout B
    Wednesday: workout A
    Friday: workout B

    and so on..

My question is how can I combine Stronglift and kickboxing the best so Im sure about good recovery on my muscles and dont overkill my body.

    Like this?
    mon: Stronglift
    tues: kickboxing
    wed: stronglift
    thus: kickboxing
    fri: stronglift
    weekend: day off

    or like this?
    mon: day off
    tues: stronglift and later kickboxing
    wed: day off
    thus: stronglift and later kickboxing
    fri: day off
    sat: stronglift
    sun: day off

    PLEASE HELP ME!

Personally i am currently completing SL 5x5 granted on the day i feel dead after my session but the following day after a good nights rest i have often started going swimming and resting at the weekends. For me this is good at the moment as not all my weights are particulaly high but this may change in the future. I would therefore think you could probably get away with using the first plan you have posted for the time being while weights are still fairly low but once the weights get much higher you may have to cut one session.

Also just a quick note on session 2 Deadlifts it should be 1x5 not 5x5

Depends on how much time/energy you intend to devote to kick boxing.

If you lift to improve your kickboxing - just lift 2 days of the week.
If kickboxing is just a conditioning thing - lift 3 days a week but drop the volume. But be prepared to eat a lot to recover.

Cool Thanks for the answers guys.

    @Spiderdan:
Well, Im going to train kickboxing 2 times a week for 1½ hour each training with a mix of cardio, strength and technique.

But my goal is more focused on weightlifting because I wish to build muscles and gain mass. So without the high weights, I guess that wouldn't be possible?

talk to your kickboxing coach about your programming, they may have strength and condition in the class for others but you dont need it and it will effect your recovery. He may have a solution. like spiderdan said drop volume you'll do fine on 3x5
