    Hey all!

Found this site about 3 weeks ago - about the same time I started training.

I am 22, 5ft8, 67kg, 11% BF. I did some weights for a while at uni, which was a few years ago now so have plently of work to do!

I am vegan so protein intake is obviously going to be one of my main considerations but this site is great for me as it states which supplements are suitable for vegans etc - sooooooo helpful! I didnt even realise there were any protein supplements other than whey available until looking on this site!

I am really interested in the science and theory behind training and bodybuilding so have been reading and taking in as much info as possible.

I have started HST, which I know is a fairly complicated and possibly advanced programme but I feel it may have a lot to offer and only doing 2 sets at a time might help with recovery which I feel is a bit of an issue for me at the mo (possibly due to diet). I am also over enthusiastic at the mo so sticking to a more strict regime might keep me from going to the gym day in day out

My goal is to put on some good muscle and to prove to myself that I can do it on my diet really.....we'll see how it goes!

Anyway, thought I would introduce myself and cheers for everyone for their input on the forums - it has been invaluable to me so far!

You might be pleased to know that one of the moderators (Jonathan) is a vegan too (least ways I think he is - I know he doesn't eat meat). Use the search facility to check out his posts, there might be something useful there for you!

    Welcome aboard anyway!

Sup mate, there are several vegans, or lacto-vegetarians like me on this board. You will just need to be that much more disciplined when it comes to getting quality nutrition, and the correct macro-nutrients into the diet to feed those hours of teeth grinding hours in the gym. No doubt you will find answers here, just keep it simply, Train Hard, Eat Harder.

Yeh nice one mate, I think that must be the key - just pile on the calories during the day. I've just found tofu which has a good protein content and I'm on the brown rice protein suppplement, which I have in a choc soya milkshake - tastes really nice! Before I started training I was steadily losing weight while only doing moderate exercise. Now I think I am starting to put on some muscle mass and I'm relatively happy with the progress - early days yet tho!
Cheers for the input, happy training!
