I think it's inevitable when doing heavy lifting that this will happen to some extend as the stomach muscles get big along with legs and back - A huge strong back and weak abs is not a good mix!

But I suspect vaccums and other TVA work would help reduce the effect.

I actually find my pregnant gut syndrome gets worse if I use a belt a lot - I believe this is becasue when wearing a belt you tend to push against it with your abs - and so they get used to extending rather than holding themselves in tight. This is partly why I only wear a belt when going for PB's.
lol, to strengthen the tva exercises such as pull-ups, one arm db press aswell as one arm bb clean and jerk, where you have to stable the whole body. I find that pull ups do it for me the most out of anything.

A bit off topic but ...

Found gymbunny's link to planetfear interesting, especially the bit at the bottom re lats - I know I am crap at lat work and the fact I have buggered up rotator cuffs is testimony to my bad form I reckon - I have for a while had a strong suspicion that doing pull ups is what screwed my shoulder.

I am going to deload on rows and use the concept in that article to ensure good form before going back up on the weights.
my backs my best bit which article are u speaking about?
