I think its because I took up a routine and hardly saw gains when I first started training. With hindsight, I think it may have been down to diet.

As soon as I have cut down I will be on the 5x5 (I think) for some decent strength and size gains for a while

and stick to the parameter the programme advises to.

I remember you asking recently can you add assistance work at the end etc. etc.

Programmes are designed to be followed not amended because you think it needs extra.

Train, eat and rest right and you will grow.

When you eat the foods your body is made for (Paleo foods) in a framework that your body is made for (feast-fast, such as IF), it all works beautifully.

Today I have had (training day diet):

    9:00 - 30g whey, 20ml olive oil

    10:00 - 3 eggs, 1 toast (I know!)

12:30 - wholemeal chick sarnie, banana

    4:00 - 30g whey, 45g palatinose

6:30 (a bit too late) - Chicken, veg

    8:00 - 50g cashews and almonds

When I go to bed: bedtime extreme, 10ml olive oil
what I've highlighted in red I'm assuming is his pre-workout meal!

nothing wrong with it, but you said you had 1000cals before you trained.

Not all of those 1000 really count towards the session though, I think that's what he was getting at
