Well I'm not sure I understand why you'd want to cut from there? Especially in January, I mean there's really no need. Maybe I possibly understand if you're going on holiday in a month and wanted a six-pack for the beach but other than that....

Well, what's your total BW first? Then we can work out what you'd be at 10%. From my calculations I reckon you must therefore be at 165lbs???

So you would neet to drop to 157lbs to reach 10% assuming no muscle loss, so most probably more like 155lbs

Gareth, according to the 12xLBM column I should be on 1750 cals a day, that is soooo low! Does this diet take into account training sessions?

yeah, just add in an extra 300 on training days if you're so worried. (I wouldn't be) How many calories do you think you really burn in 45mins of weight training though??

Hence a 'lean bulk'. If you eat clean you won't put on too much fat, especially if you're an ecto. If the majority of what you're adding is fat then it's your diet that's at fault.

Just my two cents, happy training with whichever option you go with though!

But at lower BF% you can put on more muscle mass when lean bulking due to certain hormonal advantages etc.

Who cares about what people can see now and beach time? get lean and stay lean. Simple really[/B]

What's January or the summer got to do with anything??? You can add on more "muscle" mass when lean as opposed to being slightly fat?

Most will probably agree 14% isn't exactly fat in terms of society, but in terms of BB, sports it's still quite fat.

Get to 10%, lean bulk back to around 12% and cut again. Stick around these figures and you'll add much more mass and still look good all year round rather than wait till the summer to get ripped (if you can in time) and get fat agin in the winter.

    It's non-sensical

Might as well get lean and take advantage of the increased p ratio of adding muscle at lower BF%
I didnt mean just get fat. but lets be honest, victoria beckham has more mass than this guy (sorry) if he diets what will he look like? ok his abs might be visible but he'll have like 10" arms etc

Was just trying to say dont worry about abs and all that rubbish, eat plenty of good food, gain some muscle for at least 8-12 months. That way when he does diet down he will have something to diet down to

I mentioned getting fat because he will undoubtedly get fat in the process to some extent

This is always a difficult line to walk and both Nrage & Gareth make very good points, but ultimately, you need some mass before considering a cut and therefore, I'd have to agree with Nrage, that adding muscle and perhaps a little more fat at present is the way to go.

nrage the victoria Beckham comment was just a bit below the belt! I know it was probably a joke however Mike will have worked hard and doesn't deserve a comment like that! Give advice fair enough just don't insult thats just my opinion!
