    Hey everybody!

Im new to this website and will be a new customer of MyProtein.co.uk as of tomorrow when i place my first order!

I want to use this forum to keep track of my progress and also get some if any pointers from anybody who wishes to keep track of my journey!

As of this monday i will begin my training regime which will be very strict and mon-fri from 9am to 10:30 am every morning!

I understand i will have to split my routine up with regards to which sections i train each day! also to reach the goals i require i will need a fair bit of cardio more than anything!

On top of all this i also understand that to reach my goals 80% of the work is to do with a strict diet too!! And supplements are ONLY supplements and i will need to be strict and work hard to get anywhere!

    My body stats are below

    Height: 6, 2"
    Weight: 15 stone (95kg or 210lb)
    Age: 21
    BMI: comin soon!
I will update more info as i have it!

I intend on updating this once every 2 -4 weeks with more pictures!

If anybody has any good suggestions for training regimes please let me know i.e. good full body workout that is split across the week taking into account ill need cardio on every day i expect!

My Goal is to have (as corny as it sounds) a similar physique to that of a spartan in the film 300! (ok you can take this piss now haha )

My pictures will be uploaded tomorrow! as i will take them in the morning!

any suggestions on anything would be greatly appreciated!

Hi mate, remember to use a refferal code on your first order for 5% off. Mine is MP143

Don't worry too much about your BMI. The problem with BMI is that it is just a number that doesn't take into account your body size-bones or muscle mass and only gives a simple bracket of 'ideal' body weights. Your progress photo idea is your best bet. That with whats happening on the scale and how well your training is going will give you a better idea of how you are progressing.

If you are starting full body is a good way to go.

edit- Maybe look into 5x5 or google chad waterbury. Chad likes full body routines and loads of people are doing 5x5 on this forum where you focus on squatting 3 times per week.

Welcome to the forum buddy. There's a lot of info around, just gotta dig it all up

Look at a Push, Pull, Legs routine or Stronglifts 5x5. Even Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe they're generally a 3 day a week full body session. They all consist of doing compound lifts which should make up the bulk of your exercise. I recommend doing a 3 day full body routine as a beginner and progress to splits once you're happy with the gains you've made from squatting regularly getting your strength up.

Cardio everyday isn't the best idea in my opinion. Rest is just as important as training and diet. You're growing muscle when resting, you're burning fat and also recovering from your previous session which is important to be recoved for the next session. Stick to HIIT post-workout or do it on your rest days. Keep Protein levels at atleast 1g per pound of bodyweight and you should maintain muscle, burn fat possibly even gain muscle as a beginner.

Good luck on your journey future Spartan!

Good luck buddy, i've recently took the vow you have and our goals seem pretty similar!(although im an inch and a half shorter and 4kgs heavier! - lanky git!) Not sure how long it will take us to reach spartan status though!

Am going to stick the first progression photo's up on the members photos when I take them on 8th feb (which will be 1 month after I took the first ones) Hopefully i'll feel less embarassed putting them up.

Are you going to follow one of these programs the guys recommend or do your own things?
Im doing the stronglifts prog mon/weds/fri with Tues and Sat on Hiit and complexes, Thurs and Sun rest. after only a couple of weeks i've got the bug..was so bored yesterday on my rest day, think its becoming addictive

If you new to lifting I would strongly recommend strong lifts 5x5 - it has all the information you need to progress, and what to expect all on a handy worksheet - tracking graphs and all.

To begin with to drop from normality to significantly better physique than the majority of people on the street your diet doesn't need to be great just enough protein, you don't need cardio much at all - just lift heavy, lift often.

Once you get over newbie gains, clean up that diet and focus on it, realise your goals!!

im thinking im going to stick to the 5x5 and HIIT when i read up on what that is as it seems to be what most people are recommending. on top of this i will add a few separate exercises to pin-point specific aeas i want to improve too! to im hoping to be where i want in a year to 2 years max! gonna be hard but i think we can do it.. im still waiting to post my pics i need 15 posts before i can!!
