Last night..went to bed after being up from 6.00am...have done 2 sessions of 45 min cardio walks, lay in sun for 1 hr and worked all day. Went to bed at 11.30pm and wasnt tired in slightest. fell asleep eventually, woke up a coupe of hours later with my mind on overdrive, evetually got back to sleep after 30mins or so. Woke up at 5.45am...got up drank coffee then went out for a speedy walk. Bizzare it is!
Be careful, whilst I was able to maintain my gym performance (just) it started affecting other aspects of my life. Its very easy to convince yourself things are okay when everyone else can see its not, I killed my sex drive and ability to concentrate. It gets to the stage where you "have" to workout and you need the endorphin release to feel better. The body starts running on caffeine and adrenaline and long term it just isnt sustainable. I think over my fat loss diet I had at least 7 nights when I slept less than an hour.

My problem was doing too much too soon, I basically didnt see the scale move one week and convinced myself that more work was required. I should have just told myself that fatloss isnt linear and just because the scale doesnt move does not mean I've screwed up or in need another session of conditioning. Its just hard for to see the wood for the trees when you have high focus on your goal.

Just keep a close eye on it and really try to be objective, recognising a problem is not easy.

I feel like I have slept for about 3 days when I am on ZMA and 5-htp before bed, sometimes only hitting 4-5 hours a night. I don't know if that means my quality of sleep is better - so I don't need as much...

Cheers mate...couple of things you mentioned there I have noticed in last week or so. Concentration has totally gone, sleep time down...becoming the same routine most nights this week...i feel like I need to be doing something all the time. I was always a bit like that though and I feel good just now...not tired at all...so Ill keep an eye on it. Will be knocking it off probably start of next week anyway for a bit.

You need to make sure you wind down before you get anywhere near bedtime. What time do you train? I find if I train too late then I can't get to sleep because my body is all worked up.

Do you read? I rely on Sir Terry Pratchett to get me relaxed and ready for a sleep state.
Good luck on getting it sorted buddy, don't forget to get some positive "me" time
