The thing what is getting on my wick is the amount of people taking the mick, me drinking all these shake and not gaining in size

I enjoy bulking to see if I can gain anything, but im starting to feel like im gettin a little bit of a belly, is it worth me cutting soon to try n get the abds showing?

Adam you need to decide what you want - To get big and bulk or to have nice visible abs. They do not really go together.

As for your predicament on not growing, the one thing that immediately stood out was you metioned all those shakes. You need to get some real food in you and just use the shakes as a supplement. Above all do not stress about it.

Reading your post very much reminded me of me at 18-19 years of age. I must have tried every weigt gain powder and protein drink known to man back then & guess what they did not help me to grow. Plain and simple I was nit eating enough.

Also do not forget that at 17years your hormones are still all over the place and then can have an effect on your metabolism etc.

I am now working in ASDA, so do you think it is worth getting a cooked chicken at the end of myshift every night and take it home and put it into a sandwich and into a pasta salad or something like that?

Abs, or bulking? I enjoy trying to bulk, but its hard as you can see. I guess ill try to go for the abs. Now I need help. How would I tone up, eat less, cardio and still weights?

If you are eating a whole chicken every day this will be sure fire way of bulking up.

As far as the pictures go, you have definitely added some mass mate, keep it up!

You need to stop thinking the shakes are the key to ur problems, like the meaty 1 sed, eat more alot more, also u need to focus on ur weight routine. U need to pump more weights!

As a guide u could write down everything u do, down to wen you cant complete a weight/ to how many reps you can do and to wot set.

    for example...
    4x8
    @100kgs(superman )
Bicep curls 1(8) 2(8) 3(6) 4(4) (in the bracket is reps/outside bracket is set)

so next time aim to complete set 3 and 4, but makesure u atleast beat wot u done last time. Keep doing this, push urself and give it time and u will see a difference. If u beat wot u done last time then u must be improving!

Adam you need to give it time. 2 and half a months is not enough time. Try doing everything you are doing now for the next 2 and a half years consistently. If you follow good routines and make sure you're gaining 2-4lbs each month through eating good foods you'll put on size and it'll be noticable. Make this a goal for yourself - between now and the start of march 2008 you will be 20lbs heavier. That's 2-3 lbs for the next 8 months. Most of that'll be lean gains at your age and that'd still leave you a couple of months to cut before summer next year if you wanted abs. good luck.

For 3 months work I thing you are well on the right track.

Follow meaty's advice and keep eating. Worry about your Abs next year. Get some more meat on your bones. Eat more fats if you cannot take the bulk of food.

A whole chicken is a nice idea. What you don't eat at night you can polish off for breakfast the next day!

Most of all keep up the good work!!

i advise you keep going at it. you really havnt give it enough time. even me, 'mr weight gain' would have negligable results in less than three months. keep going hard, keep eating hard and concentrate on increase your strength in the compound exercises in your rep range be it 6-10 reps and not how much meat you've added. looking in the mirror and taking pics may just demotivate you like it evidently has. just enjoy your heavy training and heavy eating i say.building muscle is a very slow process, you have to remember that.

you have made some decent gains though imo! certainly noticable on you back and chest!
