Why was Dextrose used instead of Waxy Maize Starch ?

Because Dextrose is quicker than WMS. See here: http://forum.myprotein.co.uk/diet-nu...out-drink.html

    Thanks for the link ATZ.

I looked at it and thought the first study quote you gave contradicted itself a bit though. On one line it says the glucose response was not different between control, MS, and WM (ie. I read that as meaning they all have the same glucose response):

    Quote Quote
Compared to control, the 4-hour glucose response was not different for MS and WM
but in the next sentence it says WM had lower glucose response than MS:

    Quote Quote
Compared to MS, WM led to lower 4-hour glucose and insulin responses (P < .001).
Also, the second study you quote from 2000 says WM results in a significantly higher glycogen synthesis rate than drink G (is G equivalent to Dextrose ?).

From my reading it's a bit inconclusive, as who's to say the later 2009 study is correct. However, I'm a novice when it comes to supplementation, so who am I to say.

Basically, as much as I've read around on the subject shows WMS is slower or equal to Dextrose or Maltodextrin, so it's not worth paying the extra for*

*Unless you are an athlete undertaking multiple exercise bouts during the day. The research does suggest it refills glycogen quicker, but for most proceeding diet over the next 24hrs will take care of this so it makes WMS redundant.

I think if you want to discuss it further put the query in the link I posted as this thread is meant to be kept for the discussion of Creastorm.

Thanks to everyone who has debated the protein content of Creastorm. We asked the independent testing laboratory to re-evaluate their assessment of the product and after a second round of testing, they have confirmed that the original stated protein content was inaccurate. The correct figure is ‘trace’ per 100g. We apologise for any confusion this may have caused and have updated the product information accordingly. We’ll also be sending out an MP goody bag to Khris for bringing it to our attention.

    Hi Guys,

Im an athlete that takes 2.1g of creatine monohydrate tablets (1 dosage a day) how much would i need to take of this is to get a same kind of dosage? The reason I take so little is because if I take to much I get tend to get huge body weight gains which aint any good for my 400m running.

    Cheers

From the product page, it would appear that a serving is 29g, with 5g of that being CreaPure. Assuming this is correct, you would need to take 12.18g of MP MAX Creastorm to get 2.1g of Creapure (this also assumes that the different ingredients are evenly distributed within the Creastorm - ie. you always get 5g Creapure with every 29g).
