This is not a **** question! I remember in the early 80's Tom Platz was a hero of mine, he had immense legs. Then it was announced on the news that Bertil Fox was going to the US to train.... amazing for the mainstream BBC news of the 80s.

Anyway, looking back (and more before my time), I have to say Frank Zane is my all time fave' bodybuilder. Perfectly balanced and not too huge even though he was Mr O three times.

Who's your inspirational bodybuilder now and in the past? And why?

now, ronnie coleman, i know hes retired but it is obvious he enjoyed it, he was always joking about

in the past- my granda. not famous, he did win junior mr ireland in the 1950's. did mr great britain but couldnt find the venue in london and missed it, he did his performance afterwards for the sake of it and was told he placed 2nd (not bad for someone who didnt get a chance to warm up, pump up, or oil up!)

also competed in poland a few times, and trained with reg park, who also introduced him to arnie when arnie started to get noticed!

Rich Gaspari. From what I've read he was the pioneer of bringing ripped glutes to bodybuilding. There's also that incredible black and white most muscular shot of him floating around on his site and other sites. Really really inspirational.

That other guy with the paper-thin skin who is also insanely ripped. He competes now and there was a thread not that long ago with his photos...

Tom Platz, Rich Gaspari and Frank Zane all were great - Zane in particular. I would pick Lee Haney who was a phenomenon and a perfect example of the 'X-frame'...

I never knew any bb'ers back in the day. But based on physique I'd say Lee Haney had it all. IMO Arnold was way over rated, he never really had legs and quite a wide waist which he did a good job of masking most of the time. Looks incredible in this picture:

Current day, its so hard. But currently I'd sy jay Cutler is my fav. He looks phenominal but my main reason is his business sense. Bodybuilding isnt a sport full of money but he's managed to manufacture his own success and make money from it. He is a very clever, business savvy guy and gives so much back to his fans its unreal.
Can everyone stop thinking so much.please?
