I've been thinking about setting up a blog for a while now, not just about training, diet etc. but a place where I could add random things and thoughts, photos etc.

Anyone know of any simple to use, free sites???

Blogspot is a very good one, used by a lot of people and very easy to use.

a thousand may well be stopped by three.

am I right in saying this is just an editing programme? Not an actual blog location?

It can be cheap to do if you're willing to look around, 1and1 seem to be the cheapest provider for hosting and domain names. Some internet providers give you a small amount of space to begin with you should check to see if you have any before you purchase some more. If you need any help setting up a website, give me a shout (in the FAO forum, for ease.)

Actually, I'm out of work right now, if you want a website built just give me a spec and I'll do it for you. Unless you want to do it yourself that is.

In terms of how easy it is, I found it easy to learn the code necessary but not a lot of people do, I have a mind that finds it easy to learn code and languages but I can't remember faces or names. There are a lot of websites out there that can give you any help you might need in learning it, or just copy and paste what you need.

Haven't a clue what I would require on that link lol. Think I'd be best going with a blog. I want something similar to

    http://ericcressey.blogspot.com/

Is it possible to edit pages after you've posted comments etc??

I'd rather do it myself for experience etc, but thanks for the offer.

also, would you use your real name in a blog? or is it just blatantly asking for ID theft considering the blog will have a great deal of info about me.....?

I don't think it's necessarily asking for idea theft, I have my full name address and telephone number on the internet if you know where to look. Maybe stick to an alias or simple your first name to be sure.
