See, it's silly. How does the original post deserve a thanks?

He's simply giving his opinion on the thanks and rep schemes??

I have to agree somewhat, a lot of posts are getting thanked when there is nothing to thank within them, reps were being abused so no ideal either way.

Personally I'd say just scrap the whole thing. It becomes like a game with rankings.

I come on here learn and help others learn if I can; not to try and get "thanked" or
    "repped"

Totally agree with you Roadz - just thanked you for saying exactly what I was thinking ;-)

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with the system just the way it is being used by some members. As far as I can see, it is just a virtual way of expressing good basic manners by saying thanks when someone has been helpful. While it is true that people can post their thanks as a reply to the post in question, I think you will agree that where a post accrues multiple thanks from multiple members, having them all post a 'thank you' reply would unnecessarily clutter up a thread!

I didn't even notice a change. Maybe some sort of reward once a certain count of thanks has been recieved like a free months supply of ggod MP stuff. Or better still, MP send their cutest lady round to a well thanked member for a rub down..... MP, got any cute lady employees?
