Hi guys, Im hoing someone here will have enough knowledge to help me with this.

so far, in our business all of the PAYE slips are written on by hand, however the guy that writes them would like a much neater way of filling them in. The nearest ive got so far is scanning the payslip page and opening it in photoshop and putting in text boxes on top of it and then making the bottom layer transparent and printing onto the actual payslip so only the text comes out,

but tbh, this is far too long, is there any other program in office that i can stick an image in the background, but only print the text? :S

Final resort would be to just ditch the pre printed and corregated payslip papers and just coming up with a whole new template in MS Office, that can be filled in and printed as is.

can anyone impart some knowledge on me!? Another idea would be writing crap in excel, and seeing where it prints on the page and just going through a process of elimination, of where to put the text and where not to.

the pre-printed forms are easier to mess up...id go with the office solution and make a template, plus if you do it that way you could automate the whole process using a mail merge or some similar process

why doesn't he do it in excel i think they have some standard templates for this with formula included so he doesn't have to work out deductions etc.

also you can include images on excel

wow, these are all good ideas.
I think ill go for just making a new template, and getting some mail merge magic going on! forget about the pre printed slips, aslong as we get some pre corregated paper, its all good!

    thanks guys and girls!
