Can't help but wonder why people want to ban this sort of thing from happening in private. Purely speculating here, but I'd have thought that if you have a certain percentage of the population who have a high sex drive and are too ugly to get a partner, this would provide an outlet for them and could well cause various sex-related crimes to fall, not rise.

Being devil's advocate here... the counter to that is it arouses some and induces them to go out and commit a sex crime.

Problem is you can't identify which people will react in each way - Most will probably do what you say, but there's always a minority who may act teh other - Mind you they are probably predisposed to act that way anyway, but access to the material may make them even more so.

The other problem with a ban is you drive it elsewhere / undergorund and create a new illegal trade potentially, so good news for the criminal fraternity.

And lastly/linked to previous point - there are always round these things - how can you actively police it properly - there's always news about internet child **** rings being smashed and so they obviously find ways round things - at least till they get caught.
