holy **** I can't believe this is even possible. I need to do this! lol
Also, I get that thing all the time where you just spasm as if you fell. What's worst is when you're dozing off in a packed lecture theater and then do it.
QUOTE=CosmicFish;425377]For those who have done it before - what are some interesting things you can do whilst lucid dreaming]
Sex is obvious and you can take it all the way.
As I mentioned in my last post you can lose it at the exiting bit. If you get too exited when lucid you can wake up or lose lucidity but with experience you can get away with more. with your first lucid dream be happy you have achieved it and just try to hold it as long as possible. Test your senses, look around the dreamscape and feel the wind in your hair. Avoid the temptation to summon up a Jessica (Alba/Biel/Simpson) on the first night - lol.
Flying is next. You have to learn to fly in your lucid dreams., you can't just do a Superman straight off. Your mind has something against you flying and can wake you up if you go too fast or too high. Still, it is possible to get to great speeds and chase after areoplanes but more common is just to fly over the houses as a means of transport or to escape. If you are 100% lucid (rare - there are inbetween states and you drift in and out) you don't actually need to escape because you could win any fight. Howevere, even in our dreams, it seems our minds won't let us do anything strongly against our normal behavior or morals. When I'm lucid dreaming if I have my young daughter with me, I never abandon her, I always take her somewhere safe before I go on my adventure.
Driving your car extemely fast (and off a cliff if you dare)....
Visiting different places (countries, North Pole) and different times.....
I haven't been to the Gym.
Just wandering about talking to people and analysing what was said is cool. Incidently, if you tell someone "this is dream", they don't tend to agree or disagree with you, they may shrug their shoulders but they certainly don't argue the case. If you are awake and try this, the other person will treat you like a nutter.

LOL! I get that too. In fact there's even a facebook group for it "The mini spaz-atatck you get when you're falling asleep". It's got a couple of million members, too.
Another trick I remember being told works (I've never had a lucid dream, I should say) was to set your watch so that it does that beep on the hour every hour thing. And when you hear it beep, ask yourself if you're dreaming. Leave the watch in your bedroom overnight and it should, in theory, help you to remember when you hear it in your sleep. Of course, it might just end up waking you up all night instead.![]()

"The dumbest fat loss strategy ever devised is used by people that wake up early in the morning before going to work to do cardio and follow that up with "recovery shake." Congratulations, you just wasted two hours of your life."
When I first started doing this about 6 years ago I spoke of it with a few people but they just dismissed it as impossible/crazy, so I rarely talk of it now.
I can't prove that lucid dreaming is possible and that I can do it, I doubt if anyone can. In general people are reluctant to believe in something out of the ordinary that can't be proved.
Lucid dreaming does have great benifits, have fun, solve problems, test dialogs all when you are sleeping, like living another life and you have 6-8 hours of free time every night to do it.
Look forward to sleeping, sleep more and demand lucid dreams.
Once you are an experienced lucid dreamer it just happens but much more regularly when you put some effort in when you are awake, ask "am I dreaming", do reality checks etc.
Just talking about this here makes it likely that I will have some lucids dreams over then next few nights, if I aso get to bed early it is virtually guaranteed :-)

^ beN123 & MJ.23: It's called a hypnagogic jerk and is quite common when falling asleep. When you get the same sensation while awaking from sleep it is called a hypnapompic jerk, though the latest fashion seems to be to label them all under hypnic jerks!

It's weird but I was never able to do anything I knew was impossible either, I had to convince myself things were possible before I could do them.
I've only had a couple of lucid dreams, but they were fantastic. The first time I just explored my university which wasn't brilliant but I was more fascinated by how real everything was to be creative.
The second time was a bit better. I was in my room at uni and decided my roof wasn't going to be there any more. I tried flying but it took ages, I'd jump and land as you'd expect and after a while of trying my jumps got higher and the descent got slower until I could float but little else. From there I tried swooping which was like a controlled descent and was a lot of fun.
I also worked out that when I felt like I was slipping out of it that spinning would keep me asleep, no idea why but it worked. The best bit was waking up after though, I always feel super relaxed and calm, it's the closest thing I've experienced to inner peace I think.

You have to take things slowly at first. I can usually fly, sometimes quite fast but often it proves difficult.
I usually start in my bedroom, do a few reality checks to be certain that I'm dreaming and then I usually head for the window. I push through it, the window glass stretches but I always get through without bothering to open it. You could say that is my final reality check, if I get through, I'm OK to glide down to the ground below.
It is much harder to walk though thick walls but sometimes it can be done and you don't always end up where you are supposed to. It is cool to walk through a mirror, you'll end up in a different land.
I don't want to write much about my lucid dreams as reading about other peoples dreams can be a bit boring.
If you feel you are losing lucidity there are a few tips.
The first one is to convince your mind that all is well so there is no reason to leave this place. Look at the gound and your footsteps solid upon it. Solid ground is a good convincer that all is well. Throw a ball or stone up and catch it when it comes down. Gravity seems to work as normal in dreams and this is also a good convincer.
The second idea, you mention already, spinning. Whilst standing spin round as fast as you can. When you stop you will hopefully still be lucid but somewhere completely different. Not sure why this works but it mentioned in several lucid dreaming articles.
Good Luck.

I wish these dreams were as straight forward for me as they are for some of you. In mine I can't run, never mind fly and most of them involve battles in the dark ages.
