That's why i don't use online banking, i doubt you'll be able to catch them, prob sent the money to another fake account and then picked up at a cash point. Doubt they would be as dumb as to leave a trail. You should get the money back, make sure you change your login details.

My mum got done last year - she's 80 and half-blind. Apparantly they got her card/details from when she went shopping at Asda - within two hours they'd gone to Ealing Road in Wembley and spent £2,500 on gold jewellry. Took me weeks to finally sort it all out. Whoever did it really deserves to be strung up with meat-hooks through their nipples (in my Cromwellian-like opinion anyway).

^^ As the old girl found out to her cost. Its despicable. I really feel sorry for anyone who was trusting enough to use modern technology and civilised values and has had that trust abused. The only good thing was that she wasn't mugged or anything I suppose.

I never keep much money in the account I use to buy things with, keep it in a connected savings account and just transfer it quickly if and when I need it. Can do it on my phone and it goes through instantly. If someone takes my card they'll only have access to 10-20 quid at a time!

its scary, I have worked in the finance industry for the last 4/5 years and it happens so frequently its untrue. Most common ones these days are small direct debits done on a large scale. Between £3-£50 every month. Done across hundreds of accounts.

Have to say as much as a I appreciate you would want justice as well (I felt the same when we got burgled whilst my mum was asleep £25k stolen in one night) If you do do anything , you will probably come off worse as it will be seen as pre-meditated (unless you can be very sneaky and careful about how its done)

And a coward who will steal would defintiley take you to court and probably sue you too. Sad state of affairs but unfortunately you see it quite a lot these days.
