There are methods involving calipers and electronic weighing devices, but as far as I recall they're none too accurate.

There are calculators online that can give you a rough estimate but then that's all it is, an estimate. I think your best bet would be to judge yourself by the way you look in the mirror, that or try not to worry so much about it.

edit: Some of the members here are very good at judging BF% by sight, if you post a picture to the forum they should be able to help.

Thanks for that HBK. Might do the picture thing once I'm a little leaner. Still a long way to go!

If you're in London, you can get it measured using a BodPod at BCOM next to Finchley Road tube. It's only 30 quid and it's the most accurate reading you'll get short of using water displacement which is stupidly expensive.

Well worth the money imo as you get an extremely accurate reading and a load of other useful information from a full body composition analysis as well.

And yeah, don't bother with electronic scales, mine still says I'm 22% when I'm verified at 10%!

Thanks Dolphinsky, Might be worth doing that every 3 months or so to see where I am! Finchley road tube isn't too far either!

I bought some calipers and then went to Body Fat Calculator 6 formulas to calculate body fat percentage which tells you the 7-10 places to take the measurements from and shows you howto take them. It them allows you to enter in the measurements into its online calc, and then uses 4 (I think 4 or 5) diff methods to calculate it. I just took the second highest as a start.
