Decided to buy a home gym consisting of a bench, power rack, and cast oly barbell kit which will allow me to do most of the big lifts I like

main reason to buy was the mrs is pregnant again with our 2nd so working out at home means im never really that far away but can still lift as much as i need to.

got a few other bits in the garage that ill add in when I move in the next few weeks (had to buy a house with a spare room to fit all this in!)

185kg oly kit (2x20kg plates still to be delivered)

    Bodymax CF475 Rack & CF328 Bench

cant wait to get it all built up now

Home gyms rule, just make sure to put down some kind of floor protection. I have mine in the spare room above my kitchen, for reasons unknown I dropped 130kg off my back onto the floor and left two dents in the floor and two cracks in the kitchen ceiling.

130kg dropped onto an upstairs floor ? I would have expected alot worse damage !
I wouldnt consider lifting any considerable weight on a second floor, most house are designed for spread weight upstairs not large amounts of weight being dropped in concentrated areas. Garage or downstairs room with a concrete floor is a must

Even if you put this in a garage might be worth getting some mats as you may not damage the floor if you drop it but if there not bumper plates which they don’t look to be nothing worse than having a massive chip off the side, your gyms got to look nice lol. ps also get a heater if it’s in the garage sucks working in the freezing cold nice lick of paint as you are going to be spending some serious time in there make it an enjoyable space rather than just a shed.
