Same here, completely re-learning wrong info just to pass! I just couldnt believe the stuff they are still teaching - sat fats = bad, no more than 3 yolks a week, 60% RDA's from carbs like pastas and breads etc....crazy stuff.
It also makes me upset because all the guys learning this stuff around me, have no clue and their all about to go and teach people how to eat and exercise![]()
"Squatting on a Bosu ball makes it so much more challenging!" So does getting tapped in the balls while squatting, want me to do that too?
I think for what your wanting to do that course is probably fine. Take it in, pass the test, and forget about the vast majority of it.
Only thing I'm a little worried about for you is whether theres demand for spinning instructors where you are? Have you found a few vacancies?
If your based centrally then I would expect it would be cool, but if not it would suck to have spent £500 on this course to get no job at the end.
Remember there are insurance and travel costs etc too so will it be worth your while?
Yeah I know what you're saying, I'll canvas that option before doing the Spin Instructors if there's no demand then I'll maybe do something else, possibly on the nutrition side. This would be more for myself as thats the thinnest area of my knowledge.
I think you need to get James and Ziegler opinions before doing a nutrition course mate, I think what they've said above is the general consensus.
If you feel like the nutrition side of things is letting you down, maybe start a thread on books people would recommend.
I've not taken the time to really educate myself properly in this area so I couldn't really offer any advice, I'm lucky to know a few people who I can go to with that stuff! (Plus these forums are always handy)
There is a very slim chance I may be able to get the full personal trainers course funded through work, not getting too excited yet in case it doesn't work out but what a bonus thats going to be if it does.
