nah tooooo much w**king i think![]()
you may all think this is a stupid post but it was something i was chatting to my gym buddy about so thought i'd put it up for discussion.....
have you noticed that sometimes people have different sized arms and different strength between left and right , despite working out evenly and everything. we thought it could be because your dominant arm, (right for me) gets worked more during the day and your less dominant arm gets worked less during the day so most of it's work is in the gym. Could this mean the dominant arm has more slow twitch fibres than the other one and therefore not be as specialised for weights?
P.S. Let's try to steer clear of the obvious, using the dominant arm for "endurance" excersises!!![]()
what yo guys reckon?

dont think so matey. i think its how the body is wired. the neural pathways gets stronger the more you use it hence the dorminant arm is a tad stronger.
me $0.02
dipsy.
yeash but sometimes peoples dominant arm is small, i think this might be cause of all those pesky slow twichers!

Both my arms are the same size. I'm right handed to a fault, I can't really do anything with my left hand... trust me I've tried!ahem! anyway... my point is my left arm is stronger than my right in the gym but I'd say it 'feels' weaker at everything. Weird to explain.
If I was lifting something I'd try with my right first as it naturally feels the stronger mentally BUT when I'm training and I use dumbells my right always hits failure before my left. I've always been able to bang a few more reps out with my left, it just seems to be able to keep going that bit longer.
I'd also say when I'm hitting failure on barbell curls my left will carry my right on the last rep and get me through it.
MP5500 for 5% off first order!

the % of fast twitch and slow twich muscles are also gentically inherited, and the way u workout and use during the day so its nature and nurture.
yep. unfortunatley the human body naturally isnt symetrical. So one arm, one leg, one pec etc will always be slightly bigger/stronger. In some its barely if atall noticable, in others its obvious. Just nature, all you can do is make the best of it.
Can everyone stop thinking so much.please?
It wont be because of the type of muscle fibres i'm afriad![]()
