There is a good message in there, however I also feel that if the guy didn't look like an unwashed, homeless eccentric then he may well have got a better response in the first place.

People were just joining in for the sake of being on camera and the opportunity to act like an **** in the end, or am I just being cynical ??

Some turd tried that right near where I work. Two muggers held him down and a third went through his pockets looking for whatever he was supposed to be giving away. When they didn't find any they gave him a good kicking instead.
