You'll probably find different answers depending on what people's individual goals are. Personally, I'm most interested in becoming strong, so I tailor my training to that end. Any size increases are simply a pleasant side effect for me.
chattin to my dad earlier jus made me curious... he used to do a lot of powerliftin and weights etc years ago wen he was in the force, but my dad wasn't 'ripped' or really big or anythin, but he did get challenged a lot by people who were... and he always kicked their ass, which he took great pleasure in... obviously!.... so it jus made me wonder, which is more important to you.... LOOKING huge and bein ripped, or... not looking quite as big.. or defined etc... but having more strength and power?

I just want to be big and muscley.Being ultra cut and ripped really doesnt bother me as long as my tummy is flat when standing up and i can still see my lovely green vains!
I was ripped to the bone playing rugby, so I'd like to be big and fit again. That's my aim. I'm stronger than those who don't train anyway, so pure strength isn't important.
As I'm almost 40, I don't want to be out of shape. Most of my mates look craop and I don't want to look that way - vanity!

When you eat the foods your body is made for (Paleo foods) in a framework that your body is made for (feast-fast, such as IF), it all works beautifully.
I want to be big and ripped... but to be big you need to push heavy weights and have a good diet. All will happen in time for me

My job is far easier if I have a physical presence and Ive never liked the feeling of being small that cutting brings .
My aims are simple
1) Never let my waist go beyond 34 in![]()
2) Keep strength up and increasing
3) Keep bodyweight up ( currently 16 stone at 6' 1")
My goals are functional and job related rather than geared towards BB or power lifting .
Id love to be good enough to compete in a natural competition in a few years time but at the moment the amazing Lloyd Stewart (who's even more annoyingly 57 yrs ) would wipe the floor with me .
coupla mixed responses then... i was jus curious whether peoples reasons edged slightly more vanity wise... or whether just having that power was the most important thing... i gotta say mine's prolly more slighlty that... i jus wanna look good!![]()
tbh i just want look good nekkid!
when i am at the gym im not fussy what i am lifting, as long as its progressing
i dont want to be 9st with a six pack though![]()
