This sounds like the PL event of the century. Winner takes all.
So, here I am, Ader's baby brother who at 40 is now going to do something more strenuous that lift up the TV remote. Ader has placed the challenge, how can I refuse? He has a good base and I have relative youth together with "younger brother who wants to beat his big brother" syndrome...
I am 40, currently weigh about 86kg (I should be about 80kg).
No training plan sorted out as yet but I have moved from the settee to the gym to test my lack of bench pressing strength this evening. Having not trained at all for some time I managed 60kg 1x10 and 80kg for 1x2. Not much, I know, but it is starting point. I am where I am now.
Tomorrow or Tuesday I will try the deadlift.
This sounds like the PL event of the century. Winner takes all.

haha good luck matey
you doing this as a joke or do you seriously want to compete and PL?
Thanks for the good wishes. With a little bit of luck...and some good advice who knows....
good luck dude, you have a tough task ahead of you
Ader's squatted 170, deadlifted 190 & benched 105 within the last week. I doubt you're going to catch him up within a year, but good luck
Decided on a routine? There's a few PLers with journals on here, they would be worth a look.

Of course what he hasn't let on yet is he' a black belt in Judo (Is it 2nd or 3rd Dan I forget) and so has a sound fitness base - Also he used to powerlift when he was a kid.
You'd better keep training hard then mateYou can't beat a bit of sibling rivalry. My older brother isn't very impressed now he's unfit & I'm getting to be stronger than him

This evenings Deadlift starter was 90Kg 1x6 and 100kg 1x6. Slow and steady wins the race (this approach didn't work in a cross-country race last year though).
Thanks to Richard for the support.
