I'm starting my college assignments soon (i have 4-5 to complete). The scenario is this: I picked a powerlifter as my athlete.

You are working as an fitness instructor; a powerlifter approaches you for advice on imporving their fitness levels for the forthcoming meet. Part of your work involves recommending suitable methods of fitness training to support and improve their performance.

The components of fitness (i have been told) that you have to write about improving upon are either 6 of these 9- I picked the ones in bold

    Strength
    Power
    Agility
    Balance
    Flexibility
    Muscle Endurance
    Cardiovascular Endurance
    Strength Endurance
    Co-Ordination

Exept i dont no what else to use,

Strength - used to push the weight, stronger the better
Balance - when doing a squat/deadlift/bench you have to be able to keep still and not fall over
Flexibility - so the movement you are doing is not putting strain on the body by going beyond its movement capacity.

Now can any one else help me with this, as i am confused about what else. I think power is one but i dont fully understand what power is uesd for.

I also have to describe one method of fitness training for those six different fitness components.

    I was thinking that-

Strength Training - Working to increase maximun weight you can lift.
Fartlek - Training to the x/1/x/1 time needed for lifts (ei. Bench, the pause at the bottom while the weight is resting on your chest).
Strength Endurance - Working towards increasing the amount of reps you can do with a single weight.
Muscle Endurance - Training so when you do the x amount of attempts you are given, you arnt burnt out on the 3rd attempt.

Now i no you dont have to help me with this but i have only been powerlifting for a while and still dont fully understand all the components that are requiremed. So i would appreciate it if any of you would help with this. And ofc even though they might be small i'll rep you if thats what you really want.

    power is a defo 1.

    speed aswell

    strength

    conditioning

power is used to drive the weight.more muscle fibres are used, the more power used, therefore training for more power example-speed work, makes lifting heavier weight easier, with the muscle fibres trained with speed.

lol asif your on a routine that you dont understand.

I'd think "power" was a given, I'd probably rate it over flexibility and balance. The "only" flexibility needed is to be able to go to parallel on squats...
I'd say fleibility and balance as focus points would be more suited to a gymnast or a martial artist.
