    current gym- fitness first

no power rack -only squat rack-have to squat on rebok platforms

chalk is not banned but they dont like it.

    no chains

    no bands

not olympic bars and some are starting to bend with me putting over 200kg on them!

    no other PLs there

    other gym:

    Unique Fitness:

    has chains

    has bands(i think)

    uses proper bars

    gym is PL orientated.

alot of PLs go there including world and UK record holders

    has its own chalk box

    has power rack

    spare bench shirts,belts,etc etc

    reasons:

    no friends who go there.

So long as its within your means id say so, a lifter of your seriousness would surely benefit from being in a more PL orientated environment. In fact im suprised your even asking the question

    PB's :Bench 120kg x 2 (110kg x 5), Squat 200kg x 2 (170kg x 5), Deadlift 240kg x 1 (180kg x5)

If you are really serious about taking lifting heavy things to a high level then you've gotta change gyms - or at least give the other one a try.

As for being Billy-no-mates, I'm sure you'd make freinds pretty quickly. Also, if your current gym is as lacking as it sounds, I'm sure you could also persuade one of your current training buddies who is also serious about lifting to try out the other gym with you

    PB's :Bench 120kg x 2 (110kg x 5), Squat 200kg x 2 (170kg x 5), Deadlift 240kg x 1 (180kg x5)

I think you should move gyms. I have recently moved to a smaller gym with hardly one training in there as my membership is running out on my old one and I cant get in there after (naval base).

I think training where I do now is better as I can go any time, it has what I need and I know a few people who go there. With the other gym, I would go but in the whole 6-7 months I went, only one man in there would speak to me.

    change gyms.

my uni gym is a bit like the fitness first you go to, only stayin there as its close to where i live and its darn cheap!

we manage to improvise tho, we got this kinda power rack/squat rack hybrid.

does the job so aint complaining. very useful when im doin zercher squats as the lowest rack is just below me knee level so i can just dump the bar off at failure.
