hard to tell from the description but it is of course possible that in your extended efforts you have strained a muscle, trapped a nerve, etc
There's not a injury forum, so I'm posting here.
I had a really good work out last night, broke my personal bests on three out of five exercises, and felt an amazing pump during and after.
Thing is, I've woken up today and since then have had this really strange numb pain/tingling feeling running from where my spine connects to the skull, down my right hand side of my neck, through the shoulder and all the way down my right arm. I'm feeling really weak on that arm right now... kinda like I've had loads of blood taken from it, just no energy at all.
Now luckilly, I have an office job, so no strenuous exercising there, but it's really off putting.
I'm just worried that this massive pump of energy I had last night, which helped me bench 10kg more than I've ever managed before has totally killed my body.
I've done the same post work out treatment I always have tho, shake straight after, sauna, hot&cold treatment, big hearty meal, and lost of sleep, with a fair bit of protein before bed and upon waking.
Anyone got any ideas on what the hell's going on?

As Rudidudi said, it is difficult to say exactly from your description but it sounds a little like a shoulder impingement type injury [but the pain down the neck from the base of the skull is not commonly reported with this]. It would be useful to know which exact exercises you were doing. In the meantime have a look through this and see if anything makes sense:

It doesn't sound too much like that, they're mentioning soreness and inflamation, wheereas I'm not getting any pain in that sense, it just feels like all the energy has been zapped from that arm, and the pain in neck/shoulder feels like if you twist your head too quickly, it feels like something clicks and causes a wierd "buzzing" pain... not sure if any of that makes any sense?
Last night my wo consisted of; bench, seated closegrip row, dumbell press incline, widegrip row, dumbell flyes, cable reverse flye, cable flye, then some core & abs work.
I think the likeliest explanation then is a pinched nerve in the neck...

When one has a pinched nerve in the neck, pain emanates from the neck, through the shoulders, down the arms and into the hands.

What you are describing sounds exactly like something I had a while back... caused by sitting for long hours at a PC where the screen was too low and so I was 'hunched over'.
The feeling wasn't in my arm though, it was down the right side of my neck and trap muscle - it tingled and buzzed when I moved my head, my neck felt weak, and the skin in the area was actually numb to touch and it caused headaches.
Apparently what I'd done was strained my neck and caused some (internal) inflamation which was pressing upon a nerve. Took about two weeks to go away after changing the position of my monitor. I was training at this point, but kept everything light and used strict form.
Perhaps you have strained a muscle similarly but by different means? If the feeling lasts for more than two or three days - or gets any worse I'd get it checked by a professional.
Thanks alot Nuts, and dtlv, I'll give it a few days rest, and see if it gets any better, might just do some light exercising and stretching tonight, and see how it feels.
Could be to do with monitor position I suppose, altho I've had it the same since I started two months ago, so doubt it.
