Person A and Person B are twins, both are male. Both have exactly the same genetic makeup - because they are twins. Both want to enter the world of bodybuilding, now; their diet(relevant to gaining mass) is exactly the same, their workout and volume is exactly the same there is only one difference - amount of reps.
    Person A - 5-7 Reps
    Person B - 10-12 Reps.

Both plan on working out for a year in EXACTLY the same fashion apart from the reps.

Now the question is what will be the end result:
    A - Person A becomes stronger
B - Neither becomes stronger and both maintain the exact same levels.
    C - Person B becomes stronger

What are your reasons for this, and where is the justification.

Personally I think Person A - but I will explain why later.

    person A will get stronger.

i did this for a year and half...i trained to get big with reps 8,6 then 4 on everything....

this is why i am now naturally quite strong for my size.

Person A as it easier to progress on 5-7 reps.

ie, when you plateau on a weight for 10-12 reps it's hard to make any further adjustments

going from 7 reps at 100kg means you could probably go to 5 reps at 120kg.

if you see what I mean

I would think both would get bigger and stronger in different muscle groups, depending on what muscle fibre type is dominant.

A might get bigger chest, back and shoulders while B gets bigger legs and arms for example.

Why would doing 10-12 reps attest to building bigger legs and arms? I always assume with 5-7 reps that fast-twitch would be dominant, since you are outputting explosive power in a short space of time where endurance is not really required.

I would have thought doing 10-12 reps for the core, mainly because of its endurance during stability of the body, mainly because of heavy compound movements such as squats and dead lifts, 10-12 would be vital, or even 13-15.

Not just bigger, but all round stronger or more powerfull, better developed, whatever.

I don't believe that one rep range is the best for everyone for every muscle group

    It depends on their genetics!!

One set of twins would respond differently as ratio of effectiveness to the 2 regimes that another set would.
