I can't physically lift much weight doing them , I mean after 3 sets of 15 I really struggle with the last set and the last reps were killer, and I was only lifting 7.5KG, is it just my wrists being weak and I'll slowly progress or is it normal?

what's the point? if you're going to train forearms, might as well work every part of them, and I do forearms 3 times a week.

What do you do to train them, exercise wise?

I do hammer curls, reverse bb curls, wrist curls and reverse wrist curls. (that's 3 times a week, tuesday, thursday and saturday along with stomach work)

....and if I feel like it, I'll do some zottman curls as well. I like to do grip training like using a towel on lifts as well, or that pinch grip thing were you carry 2 plates with 2 fingers.

Doing all that once a week would be more than enough IMO. Your forearms will be struggling to recover from that amount of punishment.

i would say my forearms are pretty big and strong and iv never had to do any of that. how about deadlifting? and if your using a programme of freeweights aswell your forearms should definetly improve.

    Forearms three times a day?!!
Try doing cleans and deads as well as some form of pull up, will increase your grip strength (and your forearm size) just fine. If that's not good enough for ya, try doing some pinch grips instead or some static barbell holds (load up barbell with lots of plates and just hold on to it).

doing it 3 times a week has worked for me for a long time and it's the one part of my training that's i consistently enjoy, don't try to take it away from me :P but seriously, I seem to be recovering fine from it, and I haven't had any problems so far, so for the time being I'll continue doing it.

yeah Fletch they'll improve with normal exercises but i don't want small improvements, I want to push them to the limit, if that makes sense.

    Rilla : I do them 3 times a week
