I noticed in my gym there was a dragging sled that was just gathering dust, so i borrowed it. On my days off (Tues, Thurs, Sat) ive been doing some sledge dragging using the exercises and 'Empirical Rule of 60%' protocol laid out in Dave Tates "Drag your Butt into Shape" article, followed by 4 or 5 x 50-80m sprints. Basically, after doing only powerlifting for quite a while, i felt my overall athletic conditioning (GPP) sucked (beleive it or even powerlifters need some level of GPP, esp. for recovery between sets). I wanted to do some conditioning that wouldnt drain my legs and affect my squat strength, and Dave Tate explained that the lack of eccentric loading in sled dragging wouldnt cause muscle soreness. I squatted yesterday and my strength had not deteriorated at all! I'm only pulling about 25kg at the mo, but i'll gradually build it up.

I like the idea of using a sled and getting a harness and pulling/dragging some heavy objects.

Where do you use the sled?

I bet some people look at like your mental, not the usual way of getting in some conditioning training but it sounds good and fun well done hail.

I actually work at the Bethlem Royal Hospital (a mental hospital) in Beckenham for an IT division located on the hospital site. There are a couple of playing fields there for patients, but i get there early so no-one is around. Even if they did look at me like i was a bit 'mental', they'd probably just think i was a patient and let me get on with it
