The hospital requested an extension on their response due to admin resourcing issues, so they have until mid-January.

The adrenal recovery protocol is going fine. I have had quite alot of things on my plate recently, such as applying for a new job and my boiler blowing up (not fun when its about 2 degrees outside). I am 3x4 drops DHEA, 3x5 drops progesterone, and 3x2 drops pregnenelone (building this up to 3x4). I am also still using the herbal / glandular product at the same dose i have been on the last few months. After my current batch of these substances, i will taper off of all of it and see how i respond gradually coming off them.

Switching to a "warrior" style diet recently has giving me alot more energy during the day and has freed me from the burden of constant eating or doing food prep, but i need to watch the effect on the adrenals because it triggers high cortisol output during the day.

My body fat is about 12% at a guess, so its dropped quite a bit, but i'm not sure if my strength as returned to its former level. I'm muscular, but not as big as i used to be before the illness - my body weight sits around 72.5kg these days, whereas it used to be just over 75kg. I'm actually considering trying to shift as much fat as poss to go into the 67.5kg category.

The reduced Sheiko has been good for me because most of the work is in the 60-70% range and has not overtaxed me, while allowing me to work technique, but i now feel ready to go heavy again. I'm actually going to try the 5/3/1/ program for a bit because i'm finding Sheiko is not really letting me go heavy enough on a regular basis. I will go back to Sheiko one my 1RM is where it should be.

EDIT: With regards to the 3/5/1 program, i've changed my mind. Although i like the way it aproaches intensity and reps, there simply isnt enough frequency or volume on the main lifts IMO. I think i still need something that makes me work the big 3 very frequently like Sheiko did, but approaching higher intensity without having to wait 12 weeks to get there. Therefore, i'm going to try Korte's 3x3, which seems to fit this perfectly because you get to hit 90% more often than Sheiko. Also, the volume on 3x3 is not as much as Sheiko which is an important factor for me. After Dave's success with 3x3 i'm inspired.

Yes, hope you get some compensation. Obviously, nothing really compensates for something like this but it's never a bad thing to have money coming in. Hopefully your health will continue to improve. Keep up with the updates.

This is exactly the same stunt that they pulled on me - I believe it was a delaying tactic and is probably standard operating procedure in dealing with complaints.

Training is going well - I did the GBPF Greater London powerlifting champs in Nov. and placed 3rd in the 75kg category, then did a stint of Korte 3x3 and got a deadlift PB, but i I recently decided that i wanted to go back to linear periodisation as the truth is i'm not advanced enough to be doing block periodisation, and i need to spend more time moving moderately heavy loads more frequently, so i am doing the Bill Star / Madcow 5x5 to hit more volume PB's on a weekly basis.

Nutrition-wise - i decided i want to get lean, whilst not sacrificing strength. I saw some of the competitiors in my weight category at the GBPF, and they were ripped to gills and strong as hell! I dabbled with IF in the form of the Warrior Diet for a few months after the comp, but the 4 hour eating window is too small and because i couldnt get my calories in i lost size and a bit of strength. So i recently went with the Leangains approach which is much better (8 hour eating window) and involves calorie counting, which i have 'revisited' for the first time in about 2 years. Basically figure out your maintenance, then + 25% on workout days with high carbs post workout and moderate protein, low fat, then on non-workout days you drop cals by 25% (resulting in a 50% drop from workout days), and sticking with lean meats, low carbs, and a bit more fat. Martin Berkhan and his clients are proof that you can use IF to lose fat and gain strength simultaneously.

Therapy-wise - I am gradually cutting back on the DHEA, pregnenelone, and progesterone. I am currently doing 2 drops of the former two, and 1 drop of the latter, once daily. Havent used any glandulars in a while.

In terms of the legal case - bad news. Due to the incompetence of the solicitor, she made some serious errors in the accusations made against the defendants and blew the whole case, so her firm dropped it. You get what you pay for - and seeing as i went with a No Win, No Fee firm, i paid nowt. I could make a claim against them for incompetence, but i'm knee deep in the final stages of my MSc at the mo and that is more important.

I have read research posted by Dr Eric Serrano that when the organs of creatures that have physiological similarities to humans are consumed (e.g. bovine, porcine), the proteins from those organs are transported to the same organs in your own body. Taken from a t-nation interview he did:

    Quote Quote
"JPC: Now, is it possible to take too many enzymes in a day? Will they shut down your own production due to over consumption?
Dr. Serrano: No, they won't because the enzymes will start working but they'll also break each other down. In other words, the enzymes you consume will form a complex with those in the body, and this complex will slowly be broken down (i.e. digested) over time.
In 1962, there was an interesting study where they took different organs, chopped them up, and traced them in the body using a radioactive marker. Using chopped up heart, for example, they found that 71% of the tracer ended up in the heart! Chopped liver ended up in the liver, etc. Why this occurs, no one knows. Only God knows.
Take the animal kingdom for example. When a lion kills its prey, the king of the litter will come and eat the liver first. Then everyone else can have the rest. No one can touch that liver except for the king. Why? Something is going on but we don't really know the answer.
Also, North America is the only culture that doesn't routinely consume these internal organs. Where I come from, we eat everything — tongue, heart, lungs — you name it. Back in Puerto Rico, there was a time when boxers would recommend that you eat the internal organs to improve performance.
JPC: Really? In that case, is it better to use bovine or porcine (pig) concentrates in supplements?
Dr. Serrano: If it's organic, favor bovine. If not, then use porcine. You don't want to mess with mad cow disease."
Glandulars are basically raw, freeze dried organs, complete with all the enzymes and nutrients intact that your own correlating organs can use. Years ago i dabbled with orchic glandulars for a laugh, totally unconvinced they would work. I took them pre-training. To my suprise i felt like a psycho on heat in the gym, and my agression actually gave me a few repetition PB's with decent loads. Also, outside of training all i could think about was sex, to the point it was becoming a distraction. I have also read blogs where some people using orchic extract showed artificially elevated testosterone levels after a blood test
