bill starrs 5x5 is a bit different, plus there's an advanced version of it there too.

All depends on what your aims are though doesn't it
Right guys, i havnt been on here in a while as i pretty much stopped lifting weights for ages whilst focusing on my cardio for the Royal Marines. Only a few weeks before i was meant to start training i had to have an opperation on my shin tendons! Bugger!
Anyway, im now recovering from that, im up and walking around but not comfortably able to do intense full body movements, life squat, dealifts etc for another week or so. So just trying to get ideas for a routine i can come back into.
I had quite a good base of fitness and strength before hand, just been out of it for a while so im looking at comming back and increasing my strength and maybe put some mass on again.
Im still comming from a conditioning/cross fit type background so will (When able) be doing lots of cardio and stuff.
Id like to get back into weights , 3 maybe 4 times a week. With one of those session doing barbell complexes.
So my question is, can anyone recomend a 2/3 day weight routine that will give me a fair well rounded composition, focusing on core a lot as i want to try and prevent low back niggles ive been having.
I was thinking about just starting off with a 5X5 routine as it provided me with gains before. Also i used to add in plyometrics to compliment the low reps on some sessions (5 reps bench, followed by clap pressups)
I know the basic 5X5 routine. But its not very exciting,so be good to see if theres any slightly differnt ideas,or excercises.
Cheers
