It is possible to give yourself a hernia doing squats, it's one of the more likely exercises to induce it.
You'd know about it if you had given yourself a proper one.
Is it possible to herniate yourself when doing front squats? just curious as all as im unsure if it was just a very warm feeling in my gut or what? the weight was about 58% 1RM so nothing special...
(not asking for diagnosis, really hope I havent broke forum rules)

I didn't know how/when I got mine. I just noticed a lump that got bigger over time.
Maybe you have just strained your abs hard. Sometimes you can pull your ab muscle and it hurts like a twinge.

The process? You mean to fix it? They operate - slice open the skin, push the intestines back through the hole in the ab wall, put mesh behind the ab wall to strop recurrance (hopefully) and then staple you back up.
Then a week in bed and 5-8 weeks out of the gym![]()

It could be mate. I've had a hernia (didn't feel it "go" like most people say is the case). I'd get it checked out if i were you mate (don't want to keep going and get it strangulated). p.s. Hernia's are not always really visible, mine was, it was like a damn golf ball.

Basically, if you have a lump appearing on your abs / groin, go to the GP.
