I can't get over your arrogance. You are not a professional, you are not really experienced, and you do not know everything. Yes, we are all entitled to our opinion, but brushing aside the experience of, as I said above, some of the greatest powerlifters who have ever lived, is borderline retarded.
lol this is funny. How am I arrogant? I got advice on how to deadlift and I can pull with my hips parallel to the floor. Why should I not If I can? Did I say there was one way to deadlift? All I said was I believe getting hips low is better. I did not dismiss James' advice and have taken his advice in the past.

If you get offended by an opinion, then you need help.

As you said, we are all entitled to our own opinions. So why so mad? You are drawing out rediculous conclusions from a less than 20 word sentence. Good job.

MJ, you ooze arrogance. You always make out that you are the balls, and that you are never wrong, even when there is incredible evidence to prove otherwise (made fact in this thread). For the type of lifting that Coma does, James's advice cannot be dismissed (or the form of the best deadlifters on planet Earth, for that matter), just because some guys who can deadlift 400kg told you. For what they do, yeah great, but not for powerlifting. Even your last comment portrays arrogance, but you are too blind to see. Maybe you should try being a little more humble.

Please enlighten me as to my arrogance? Is portraying an opinion arrogant? Sorry for doing so.

Show me all the posts where I say I am correct and I make myself out to be "the balls."

This is not even related to the thread so if you have a problem with me, that is your issue and take it up somewhere else.

Sorry to borrow your thread. But i have been searching around alot on how to improve my deadlift technique and i have watched alot of the top guys. However i found this one video that is quite simple but for me gives some really good teaching ques that i can relate to and i have been practacing a bit and it seems to have made a difference. I felt i should share as i know for someone like myself squat and deadlift form is something i am never to certain on and a video like this i think can really help due to its simplicities and the fact it says things other often dont.

Go to 2min 7 Sec for the video to properly start.

With regards to improving you DL technique have a look at this one pkant. Mark Rippetoe: Deadlift Set-Up - YouTube much sorter and simpler. Mark Rippetoe is awesome at teaching novices the lifts. his site startingstrength.com has shed loads of info on pretty much everything. If you really want to get your form and things nailed down and learn a bit more about them have a read of starting strength 2nd/ 3rd edition and the SS dvd. (you can get torrents to download both of them as well as practical programming for strength training. I Highly recommend all 3 of them, they're awesome)

And also I'd stick with a double overhand grip for as long as you can and then when the weight gets heavy enough that you can't keep hold of it with double overhand then switch to alternate grip but only for your work sets.
